SPECTRACYT Project

The SpectraCyt project aims to design, implement, and validate an integrated functional method (IFM) for malignant cell recognition, classification, and counting (CRCC) from cavity serous fluid samples.

Concept: hyperspectral images (HSI) of unstained cells contain enough optical information, sensitive to chemical and morphological properties of samples, such that ML classifiers can identify and count the malignant cells by type of cancer, if any. The morphological and structural changes of malignant cells go with specific spectral and spatial changes of the properly selected features assigned to HSI.
