Prof. Mona Mihailescu
Mona Mihailescu is a professor of Physics, Biophysics, Quantum Information, and Optical Methods at Politehnica Bucharest. She founded the Digital Holography Laboratory in 2007 and the Quantum Optics and Optoelectronics Laboratory in 2017. With an H-index of 16, she has co-authored 120+ ISI-indexed papers, holds three patents with five more filed, and has led or contributed to 26+ research projects. Her expertise includes quantum sources, diffractive optics, holography, optical tweezers, interferometry, microscopy, and free-space communications. Her research focuses on entangled photon generation, phase microscopy, hyperspectral imaging, and machine learning for unstained cell and tissue classification.
Associate Prof. Eugen Scarlat
Eugen Scarlat is a senior researcher at POLITEHNICA Bucharest, more than 30 years research experience. He holds a PhD in electronic engineering, telecommunications, and information technology from POLITEHNICA București. He has expertise in optical systems design and construction, and laser-based measuring techniques (interferometry, diffraction). Now, he works on image characterization in probability vector spaces using mathematical operators, statistical data processing, and classification metrics. He also applied fractal descriptors in images processing. Co-author of more than 80 ISI papers, H-index 9, 2 patents applications.
PhD Ana-Maria Pleava
Ana-Maria Pleava scientific researcher, holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Politehnica Bucharest 2022. She is the main author of a Q2 journal paper, co-author of other ISI journal papers and co-author of a Laboratory guide for quantum optics experiments, published in Politehnica Press, Bucharest 2021. She contributed to 4 national and industrial projects as a member of the team and currently is an active member of the team in a project in colaboration with ImunoMedica. She has more than 35 citations according to Google Scholar.
Nicolae Tarbă
Nicolae Tarbă, engineer, is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at UNSTPB. He is currently working as an engineer at FSA-UNSTPB. He is the main author of a Q1 journal paper and co-author of 17 additional journal papers and 3 conference papers. He has more than 75 citations and a h-index of 5. Domains of interest include computer vision, image processing, machine learning and statistics. Proficient in MATLAB, C/C++ and C#. Experienced with hyperspectral imaging, feature extraction and regression/classification using ML.NET.
Mihaela Andreea Ilișanu
Mihaela Andreea Ilișanu is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at UNSTPB. She is currently working as an engineer at FSA-UNSTPB. He is the main author of a Q1 journal paper and co-author of 11 additional journal papers. She has more than 40 citations, H-index 3. Domains of interest include mathematical modeling, image processing, machine learning and statistics. Proficient in MATLAB, C/C++ and C#. Experienced with hyperspectral imaging, feature extraction and regression/classification using ML.NET.
Raluca Daniela Negoiță
Raluca Daniela Negoiță is a young PhD student in the field of physics with interest in biophysics at the Doctoral School of Applied Sciences, UNSTPB. Her research focuses on the analysis of biological samples using hyperspectral microscopy and digital holographic microscopy techniques. Additionally, she is involved in simulations and modelling of electric fields using specialized software such as COMSOL. Currently, she is the primary author of a scientific article listed in Q1, and has contributed as a co-author to other scientific publications. She has participated as principal investigator of the HoloProc Proof of Concept UPB project (2021-2022) and is currently working as an assistant professor in the Physics Department of UNSTPB.
